Inhalt

My Life Is My Own Affair

Elke had already made herself known in a quarter of an hour in "Lebenslaeufe" (1980). She had been the "pretty little girl with the curls" among the children of Golzow who had started school in Oderbruchdorf in 1961, a few days after the construction of the Berlin Wall.

And Elke also had curls again as a lovely bride for her big Catholic wedding. But the marriage vows didn′t even last a year. How did her life continue? In over two hours, "My Life Is My Own Affair" recapitulates Elke′s growing up once more, going from the sandpit in the Golzow kindergarten to the 41st birthday of the pretty, intelligent young woman who went away from Golzow after her tenth class at school, became a technical drawer in Frankfurt/Oder and now lives with a businessman from Frankfurt am Main. So far, she hasn′t wanted to marry again. This would be her fourth marriage if she did. "Until death us do part"? She would rather leave that to life....
