Zum Teufel mit Harbolla

Zum Teufel mit Harbolla

DDR 1988/1989, Spielfilm

Inhalt

The German Democratic Republic in 1956: Fledgling and diligent NVA platoon leader Engelhardt is ordered to return his predecessor Harbolla from his arrest to the barracks. Corporal Harbolla, a former blacksmith, was absent without leave and had been arrested by a patrol in a bar, dancing to rock and roll music in his uniform trousers and undershirt. Now, Engelhardt does not want to get back to the barracks too soon and resists taking the fastest way there. At first, he wants to visit his "fried potato" relationship, Heidelore, who works in the bar where Harbolla was arrested. There, Engelhardt meets Anita whom he once involuntarily helped smuggling. And that is just the starting point for a series of entanglements involving smugglers, a former Nazi, and an FDJ meeting. After having weathered all these adventures, the dissimilar soldiers notice that they have become friends over the turn of events.
